Product description

MANNOL Hypoid 80W-90 GL-4/GL-5 LS is an all-season, mineral-based gear oil.

It was developed for hypoid gears under extreme loads, in heavy-duty bevel, cylindrical, and worm pairs, and is recommended for use in differentials, including limited-slip. It may be used in all types of manual transmissions, including those subject to extremely heavy loads and high temperatures, and in other transmission parts where extreme pressure and impact loads occur.

Performance and protection

• The base, formulated with optimal viscosity across a wide temperature range, combined with an elevated additive concentration, is intended to support anti-friction performance and fuel economy.
• The composition is intended to support anti-wear and anti-scuffing performance and extend equipment life across operating modes and ambient temperatures. The oil film is intended to resist elevated pressures and temperatures.
• Intended to help prevent differential jamming and reduce piston wear, supporting reliable operation of self-locking differentials.
• Low-temperature properties are intended to support easy starting, reliable lubrication, and, in manual transmissions, precise shift quality at ambient temperatures down to -30°C.
• Thermal-oxidative stability, resistance to thermal degradation and aging, and viscosity stability are intended to extend the interval between oil changes and reduce maintenance costs.
• Intended to reduce operating noise.
• Formulated not to corrode non-ferrous metals.
• Compatible with sealing materials, intended to prevent swelling, hardening, and shrinking, reducing spare-parts costs.

Applications

Recommended for manual transmissions of passenger cars and heavy-load manual transmissions of highway vehicles (freight trucks, buses), off-road vehicles (construction, mining, agricultural), and special vehicles from European, American, and Asian manufacturers requiring MIL-L-2105D service characteristics.
