Product description

MANNOL Hypoid LSD 85W-140 API GL-5 is an all-season, high-viscosity mineral-based gear oil for manual transmissions.

It was developed for self-locking (limited-slip) differentials, main gears with hypoid pinions, and other manual-transmission parts with bevel, worm, and cylindrical pairs that see extreme and impact loads and high operating temperatures.

Performance and protection

• The high-viscosity base, formulated to preserve viscosity at elevated operating temperatures and pressures, combined with an elevated additive concentration, is intended to support anti-friction performance and fuel economy.
• An elevated EP-additive content is intended to support anti-wear and anti-scuffing performance and extend equipment life across operating modes and ambient temperatures. The oil film is intended to resist extreme pressures and temperatures, helping prevent differential jamming and reduce piston wear.
• Low-temperature properties are intended to support easy starting and reliable lubrication at ambient temperatures down to -20°C.
• Thermal-oxidative stability and resistance to thermal degradation and aging are intended to keep mechanisms clean, extend the interval between oil changes, and reduce maintenance costs.
• Intended to reduce operating noise.
• Formulated not to corrode non-ferrous metals.
• Compatible with sealing materials, intended to prevent swelling, hardening, and shrinking, reducing spare-parts costs.

Applications

Recommended for manual transmissions of passenger cars and heavy-load manual transmissions of highway vehicles (freight trucks, buses), off-road vehicles (construction, mining, agricultural), and special vehicles from European, American, and Asian manufacturers requiring GL-5 LS service characteristics.
