Heavy-Duty Lubricants for Florida Fleet Operators

Fleet maintenance team of two technicians reviewing a clipboard together beside a bus with its rear engine bay open, buses lined up under a covered depot in the background

A Florida fleet needs a component-level lubricant plan covering engine, transmission, hydraulic, axle, grease, and coolant requirements. Heat, humidity, water exposure, and duty affect maintenance, but they do not override OEM specifications.

What product families belong in the plan?

SystemSelection basis
Diesel engineAPI/ACEA/OEM and SAE viscosity
TransmissionTransmission model and exact fluid standard
HydraulicISO VG, pump requirement, operating temperature
Common-sump tractorJ20C or other multifunction spec
Axle/final driveSAE gear grade, API GL, OEM/LS requirement
GreaseNLGI, thickener, load, speed, water, temperature
CoolantChemistry, concentration, ASTM/OEM coverage

What does Inforca currently document?

Inforca lists MANNOL and PureGuard engine oils, ATFs, gear oils, ISO hydraulic oils, tractor fluid, greases, and chemicals. SCT Lubricants is currently brand-level only; MATO equipment models remain subject to confirmation.1

Examples include MANNOL TS-series CK-4 oils, PureGuard PG206 15W-40 CK-4/SN, PureGuard PG801/802/803 hydraulic oils, PG805 tractor fluid, and documented transmission products.

How should Florida conditions be handled?

Measure operating temperature, idle time, load, dust, water, route, and storage exposure. Do not automatically move to a thicker oil. Use OEM viscosity charts and shorten inspection or contamination-control intervals where evidence supports it.

How is bulk quality controlled?

Verify exact product and lot at receipt, protect storage, dedicate or clean transfer equipment, label every dispenser, and keep delivery records. API 1525A addresses bulk engine-oil chain of custody.2

Frequently asked questions

Does every fleet need 15W-40?

No. Engines may require 10W-30, 5W-30, 5W-40, or another grade.

Can one ATF cover all vehicles?

Only if each transmission appears in documented coverage.

Does heat mean ISO 68 hydraulic oil?

No; actual oil temperature and pump limits decide.

Does Inforca cover all Florida ZIP codes?

Confirm route, minimum, freight, and date for the destination.

Can Inforca provide dispensing equipment?

Inforca is adding MATO equipment, but model and availability confirmation are required.3
