Matching Inforca Oils to OEM Approval Requirements
Match dealership requirements at the exact product and viscosity level. A brand relationship, ACEA category, API service category, or manufacturer recommendation is not the same as a formal OEM approval.
What evidence should the dealership collect?
- Vehicle/engine/transmission requirement.
- Exact product name and SKU.
- SAE or ISO viscosity.
- Current TDS and revision date.
- OEM approval number or approved-list entry.
- API license entry where applicable.
- Packaging and batch traceability.
- Current availability and substitution policy.
How should claim language be classified?
| Claim | Meaning to record |
|---|---|
| Approved / licensed | Formal status under the named program |
| Meets | Supplier’s performance claim |
| Recommended for | Supplier’s use recommendation |
| Suitable for | General supplier suitability statement |
Never rewrite “recommended for” as “OEM approved.” API’s EOLCS directory is the verification source for licensed API marks.1
Which MANNOL products have strong supplied evidence?
- TS-14 UHPD 15W-40, MN7114: supplied sheet lists API CK-4, ACEA E11/E7 and formal Mack EOS-4.5, Renault RLD-3, and Volvo VDS-4.5 approvals, plus other specification claims.
- Energy Premium 5W-30, MN7908: supplied sheet lists API SP, ACEA C2/C3, and several OEM specifications; each claim type needs current confirmation.
- Energy Formula PD 5W-40, MN7913: supplied sheet places its OEM list under “Recommendation.”
- Formula Excel 5W-40, MN7923: supplied sheet lists several European specifications but does not separate formal approvals.
Inforca identifies these families as active, but current inventory is not established by the page.2
What about PureGuard?
Inforca publishes PureGuard gasoline, heavy-duty, ATF, hydraulic, and grease products.3 Supplied files contain product-level API/ILSAC and other claims, but complete OEM approval evidence and packaging are inconsistent across the library.
Before a dealership proposal, verify each SKU in API/OEM directories and obtain current manufacturer TDS documents.
What about SCT Lubricants and MATO?
SCT Lubricants is currently documented only at brand level. Do not publish SCT product approvals, viscosities, SKUs, or package sizes until a finalized catalog exists.
MATO is dispensing equipment, not an engine-oil approval line. Inforca says its active model list is being finalized.4
How should an approval matrix look?
Use columns for product, SKU, viscosity, API/ACEA, OEM requirement, claim type, evidence URL/file, revision date, package, availability date, and reviewer.
Mark unknowns as unknown — never infer them from related products.
Frequently asked questions
Does ACEA C3 prove BMW LL-04?
No.
Does API CK-4 prove Volvo VDS-4.5?
No; verify the Volvo approval separately.
Can one approval cover every viscosity in a product family?
Not necessarily. Verify exact grade and SKU.
Does a manufacturer website prove Inforca stock?
No. Local availability requires confirmation.
Can SCT be included in an approval table now?
Only at brand level until product documentation is added.
