Which MANNOL Oil Matches Your European Vehicle?

Match a MANNOL oil to a European vehicle by the exact OEM specification and allowed SAE viscosity for that VIN and engine — not by brand, country, fuel type, or “Euro oil” on the label.

Start with the vehicle manual or current OEM service information. Then compare the requirement with the exact MANNOL product’s current data sheet and approval status. Inforca must also confirm that the SKU is active and available.

What information is needed for a MANNOL lookup?

Collect:

  1. VIN.
  2. Year, make, model, and market.
  3. Engine code and fuel type.
  4. Required OEM oil specification.
  5. Permitted SAE viscosity.
  6. DPF, gasoline particulate filter, or other aftertreatment.
  7. Service interval and operating conditions.
  8. Current oil and quantity.
  9. Preferred package size and monthly volume.

The VIN matters because one model can use multiple engines and specifications. BMW, for example, provides vehicle-specific digital owner manuals through VIN lookup.1

Which requirement comes first?

Use this hierarchy:

OEM specification → permitted viscosity → formal approval or accepted claim → application and interval → package and availability.

ACEA and API categories help describe performance, but they do not automatically replace an OEM standard. “BMW,” “Mercedes-Benz,” or “Volkswagen” in a recommendation paragraph is not enough without the exact specification.

What do Inforca’s documented MANNOL products cover?

The following table summarizes only products that appear on Inforca’s current active MANNOL page and have a supplied 2026 product file.2 It is a screening table, not a vehicle recommendation.

MANNOL Energy 5W-30, MN75115W-30API SN/CH-4; ACEA A3/B4; VW 502.00/505.00/503.01/501.01; MB 229.3/229.5; BMW LL-98; Renault RN0700/RN0710Not a substitute for later low-SAPS approvals unless explicitly allowed

MANNOL Energy Ultra JP5W-20API SP Resource Conserving; ILSAC GF-6A; ACEA C5; Ford coveragePositioned mainly for American, Japanese, and Korean requirements
MANNOL Legend Ultra0W-20API SP Resource Conserving; ILSAC GF-6AUse only where the exact 0W-20 performance is required

Inforca’s active page also names Defender 10W-40, Special Plus 10W-30, and other products, but the supplied knowledge files do not fully support all public-page claims. Confirm their current TDS before adding them to a vehicle lookup.

How should BMW applications be matched?

Find the specific BMW Longlife requirement — such as LL-01, LL-04, LL-12 FE, LL-17 FE+, or another current specification — and the viscosity allowed for the engine and market.

Do not treat all BMW Longlife standards as backward compatible. An oil showing LL-04 does not automatically satisfy LL-01, LL-12 FE, or a later fuel-economy specification.

How should Mercedes-Benz applications be matched?

Mercedes-Benz uses numbered operating-fluid sheets such as 229.5, 229.51, 229.52, and others. Identify the engine and permitted sheet before comparing products.

Mercedes-Benz’s current technical guidance for selected engines lists multiple acceptable sheets but also calls for the appropriate viscosity and approval-list status.3 Another engine may have a different list.

How should Volkswagen Group applications be matched?

Identify the VW standard — such as 502.00, 505.00, 505.01, 504.00/507.00, 508.00/509.00, or another requirement — from current vehicle information.

Do not select 5W-30 alone. Volkswagen’s U.S. approved-oil bulletin shows that one VW standard can appear in multiple viscosities.4

What if the required specification is not in the current Inforca list?

Do not force a near match. Mark the request as “specification not yet verified,” then ask Inforca to confirm whether an active or orderable MANNOL SKU has the required approval.

MANNOL publishes a broader catalog than Inforca’s current public active list. A manufacturer-page product should not be represented as local stock until Inforca confirms it.

What is the difference between approval and recommendation?

  • Approval: formal status associated with the OEM’s program and exact product.
  • Specification or meets claim: performance claim made by the lubricant supplier.
  • Recommendation: the lubricant supplier recommends the oil for an application.

Use the exact term from the current data sheet. When the vehicle requires an approved product, verify the OEM list.

Frequently asked questions about MANNOL Euro oil selection

Which MANNOL 5W-30 fits a BMW?

The viscosity is not enough. Identify the BMW Longlife requirement and compare it with the exact product’s current approval or recommendation.

Can MANNOL Energy Premium replace MANNOL Energy 5W-30?

Not automatically. Their ACEA and OEM coverage differ.

Which MANNOL oil is VW 504/507 approved?

MANNOL’s manufacturer site lists Longlife 504/507 5W-30, 7715, with formal VW approvals.5 Inforca’s current active list does not verify that SKU, so availability must be confirmed.

Does ACEA C3 mean BMW LL-04?

No. C3 is an ACEA category; LL-04 is a BMW requirement.

Can a shop standardize on one European oil?

Only if the verified approval matrix covers every vehicle in scope. Keep dedicated exceptions where it does not.

Send the specification, not just the vehicle brand

Send Inforca the VIN, engine code, OEM specification, viscosity, aftertreatment, current oil, monthly volume, and package preference. The team can compare current MANNOL documentation and confirm the SKU and availability.
